ThE cRiTiCs is an entertainment company that produces movies, short films, comedy skits, and Vfx reels by Teenage Filmmakers (consisting of 6 boys and 3 girls) based in Kaduna, Nigeria. They started out making their films on smart phones, and used apps to help create special effects and music. I had an awesome time watching their short films, they are an inspiration to all filmmakers.

I have had some days where I felt like I needed to buy more equipment to make a quality film, but I was wrong. These guys make films on smart phones, how crazy is that? I am super proud of these kids. They showed me that if you study how a film is made, your tools won’t limit the quality of your story. They have all the angles shot perfectly, and their stories are really captivating. Nigeria is such a great place to film, especially with these open fields and locations they use. The key is to make the best of what you have, and they’ve done just that. Enough of me talking about them, lets take a look at their short films. I embedded some films they made below.
