Things are looking bright for rookie Lamelo Ball during his first practice as a Charlotte Hornet. This kid has been criticized left and right by the media and critics, saying that he doesn’t belong in the NBA. People don’t even think he deserved the #3 spot in the draft. Looks like they were wrong about him. Today he showed the entire team what he’s all about.

Lamelo had a small shoot out with new teammate Gordon Hayward and Melo’s shot was consistent. He has to work on his form a little, but his accuracy was there. Other players on the Hornets love Melo’s passing ability and work ethic. They say he’s better than what they expected, and his height helps him see over the defense. The team is starting to recognize that he’s not just a famous kid. Coaches and players alike are happy he’s a part of the Hornets. I’m starting to think Michael Jordan has a plan for this kid after all.
